Thunder in the Valley!!

No, we didn't have thunder from the skies.  It's the thunder from motorcycles rumbling by as they get from one town to another on this weekend that has now become a national motorcycle rally.  This is what Johnstown looked like on the main streetss and anywhere they could park.

Then there were the vendors selling motorcycle things to jewelry to  food.  Those are leather jackets, vests, etc.

There was a parade on Sat and the Budweiser Clydesdales were the main attraction.

 Their harness weighs 130 lbs.
Even the dalmation has a harness!!
The handlers are there wiping their mouths and if that gold harness part gets slobber on it, they wipe it too!!!!  And they kept doing that, till it was time to pull out!!!

This piece of sculpture is in front the the Tribune-Democrat (local paper) accompanied with Monica.  This is where Dave and I both worked 30 some years ago!!!

Today, we went to hear a Johnny Cash impersonator.
The lady behind is the June Carter impersonator.  She also did Patsy Cline, Janis Joplin and Alvin!!!!!
Monica was up on stage with the tambourne and had the mike and was singing Ring of Fire, but Dave didn't take just a pic, he was videoing the whole thing!!!!
All in all, it was a busy, noisy weekend!!!!

  1. What an awesome weekend filled with lots to see and do! I remember seeing the Clydesdales when I was a kid, they came to my home town and were in the 4th of July Parade. Funny seeing that Budweiser wagon with Merrimack, NH on it!!!! a town not far from where I was raised!
Perhaps one day Monica will be the one entertaining at a special event!
    Blessings my friend~

  2. Sounds like you had a lot of fun! We had real thunder here and terrible rainstorms. It finally seems to be clearing out as I sit here typing this.
The Clydesdales are beautiful. We were able to meet some of them a few years back when we were vacationing and they were stationed at Seaworld. You wouldn't believe how well they take care of the harnesses and the other gear. There are men polishing and shining all day long.
    Have a great week!

  3. Wow, sounds like you stayed busy the weekend Lois. Such fun events to partake in. Love seeing the Clydesdales. They came thru town last year at Christmas. Darbee Rae loved seeing them and hearing their hoofs on the pavement. Hope you are having a great week.

  4. My husband has been to Thunder in the Valley the last two years but he missed this year.
He goes up on his bike with all of his other Harley guys. It's always a fun day for them and just the perfect distance away .
If he goes next year, I'll be sure to go along with him so that maybe you and I can finally meet up. We can't stay just internet friends forever!
